We’re auditioning for Concertmaster!

We’re auditioning for Concertmaster! We encourage any dedicated musician who is interested in a leadership position to apply - details to sign up for/send in an audition are below! Please note that this is a volunteer position.

AUDITION DETAILS

REPERTOIRE

  • Two movements from a piece(s) from the standard solo repertoire. Movements should be contrasting, and can be from the same solo.

  • Two standard orchestral excerpt(s).  The list HERE can be used as a guide and includes PDFs of all excerpts - however this list is not exhaustive and other excerpts will be accepted. 

AUDITION DATES

  • Auditioners may send in a video recording to both the executive director (katerinagrein@gmail.com) and the music director (mahleric@gmail.com). These submissions must be sent via link to Google Drive, iCloud etc, or by hosting platforms such as YouTube and Vimeo. Videos must be received by September 15th, 11:59PM. 

  • In person auditioners must choose between the following dates - please submit your date request to both the executive director (katerinagrein@gmail.com) and the music director (mahleric@gmail.com) and a time slot will be assigned to you:

    • Wednesday, September 9th, 6:00 - 7:00

    • Wednesday, September 16th, 6:00 - 7:00

  • Auditions will be held at Northport High School

  • Requests will be accepted until September 15th, 11:59PM

Please include in your submission, or bring to your audition, a short musical resume, simple bio or “about me.” This does not need to be a professional resume - just your general experience up to date.
